INTRO TO Aerials 6 WEEK COURSE
This is your prerequisite course for doing any aerials classes
If you have never done aerials before, please sign up to our intro to aerials course! Here you will learn the basics of hoop and silks, with detailed explanations and demonstrations in a class where everyone is in the same boat. Once completed, you move onwards and upwards to the beginner or mixed level ongoing classes to grow your skills, strength, and confidence!
Dance Trapeze - Mixed level
Prerequisites:
Aerial students: Intro to aerials 6 week course (at least 5/6 classes attended).
Pole students: Be able to invert, outside leg long and push up into spinning crouch easily and climb all the way to the top confidently & with good technique.
Dance trapeze bridges the gap between vertical apparatuses and bars, providing many unique and interesting pathways to be explored. It is also rigged to a single point, which allows for fun and creative spins!
We will be learning various sequences, skills, and spins, with progressions catered to your level. This is a mixed level class for any students who has beginner to advanced skills in aerials (and pole); no prior trapeze knowledge is necessary.
BEGINNER Hoop (lyra)
Prerequisite: Introduction to Aerials 6 week course or have a good command and technique of the basics.
Beginner hoop will help build your skill and strength as you learn to develop a solid repertoire of tricks and transitions in the air whilst exploring creativity within the beginner hoop syllabus through the introduction of sequencing and flow. Active flex and aerial conditioning classes are highly recommended to build strength and control in the air. It will fast track your progress, flexibility, and is excellent to for injury prevention.
Beginner Silks
BEGINNER SILKS
Prerequisites: Completion of the 6-week Intro to Aerials course or a strong command of silks basics.
Beginner Silks is designed for students who are ready to build on their foundational skills. You’ll start by revisiting the fundamentals from the Intro course, focusing on getting more comfortable, confident, and gaining better control in the air.
With consistent training, you’ll expand your repertoire of tricks, transitions, and movement quality, while also beginning to explore creativity within the structure of the Beginner Silks syllabus.
This syllabus is designed to support safe, progressive learning and can be worked through at your own pace, ultimately preparing you for the transition to Intermediate Silks.
High Beginner - INTERMEDIATE HOOP (Lyra)
Prerequisite: Have a good command of at least 70% of the beginner hoop syllabus. You will be told by your instructor when you are ready to venture into this level.
You will learn beautiful transitions, spinning technique and use of dynamic movement which will lead you into the realm of complex hoop flow, exploring all areas of the circle, including the span-set above.
Since you will be pushing the body into more complex positions, we highly recommend cross training by attending active flexibility classes. Regular flex classes are excellent as an injury preventative measure by improving your ability and awareness to safely perform bendy and complex moves with proper muscle engagement.
Aerial conditioning classes are also recommended to build strength and control in the air, as well as refining technique especially for your inverts.
High Beginner - INTERMEDIATE Silks
Prerequisite: Have a good command of at least 70% of the beginner silks syllabus. You will be told by your instructor when you are ready to venture into this level.
You will learn beautiful transitions and use of dynamic movement and drops which will lead you into exploring longer sequences to further build your endurance and strength.
Since you will be pushing the body into more complex positions, we highly recommend cross training by attending active flexibility classes. Regular flex classes are excellent as an injury preventative measure by improving your ability and awareness to safely perform bendy and complex moves with proper muscle engagement.
Aerial conditioning classes are also recommended to build strength and control in the air, as well as refining technique especially for your inverts.
Intermediate - Advance Hoop (Lyra)
Prerequisite: Have a good command of the Beginner - Intermediate hoop syllabus. You will be told by your instructor when you are ready to venture into this level.
Since you will be pushing the body into complex and extreme positions, we highly recommend cross training by attending active flexibility classes. Regular flex classes are excellent as an injury preventative measure by improving your ability and awareness to safely perform bendy and complex moves with proper muscle engagement.
Aerial conditioning classes are also recommended to increase strength and control in the air, as well as refining technique especially for your inverts.
Aerial Straps
Prerequisites: Intro to Aerials 6 week course
A sure-fast way of enhancing your functional strength and stability, especially through your shoulders and abdominals. We work on progressions for holding and moving through various shapes in the air, controlled inverts, dismounts, and drills to increase endurance and the most fun of all, learning how to spin.
This class will benefit students of all levels! If you would like to dabble in straps first, the aerial conditioning class on Tuesdays 6:30pm with Mary is a great way to have a go and try conditioning on silks and hoop too! This Tues class does not have any prerequisites so you can just book in and give it a go.
